North West London Pathology recently won the ‘Major project go live’ award at the 2024 Health Tech Awards! This award recognises our six-year long network transformation project, replacing multiple legacy lab management systems with a single solution.

In October, Saghar Missaghian-Cully gave a speech at the Houses of Parliament with British In Vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA) as part of their parliamentary reception – Diagnostics: The State of the Nation.

In October, NWLP hosted an exclusive GP Study Event, specially designed for GPs within the NWLP catchment area at Charing Cross Hospital. The event provided a unique opportunity for our GP network to come together and gain valuable insights from leading industry professionals and consultant clinicians at NWLP.

In September, our Managing Director, Saghar, chaired the Convenzis NHS Pathology South Conference. The event took a closer look at the current state of play across the UK pathology community and provided a platform for NHS pathology managers and leaders to share best practices and insights from across the UK.

This month, we hosted a visit from North West London Procurement Services. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our laboratories and discuss how our collaboration can further enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare services in our region.

It’s a fact of life – most of us will end up with a persistent cough. Although it’s easy enough for your doctor to identify a respiratory tract infection, it can be difficult to diagnose the cause. If there are underlying health conditions, lab tests can be a sensible course of action to help with diagnosis. The doctor collects a nose swab and cough sputum sample.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the North West London Pathology Training Academy, an exciting milestone in our ongoing journey to deliver on our strategic goals. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to excellence, innovation, and most importantly, our dedicated team.

We are proud to share that we are, once again, finalists for three awards at the upcoming HSJ Awards 2024.

The NWLP Symposium, held on the 27 June, was a vibrant gathering of over 180 delegates, including laboratory staff, leaders, educators and thought leaders from across the country.

This year Biomedical Science Day 2024 took place on Thursday 6 June. This is a day to celebrate biomedical science professionals’ hard work.
