It’s a fact of life – most of us will end up with a persistent cough. Although it’s easy enough for your doctor to identify a respiratory tract infection, it can be difficult to diagnose the cause. If there are underlying health conditions, lab tests can be a sensible course of action to help with diagnosis. The doctor collects a nose swab and cough sputum sample.

The NWLP Symposium, held on the 27 June, was a vibrant gathering of over 180 delegates, including laboratory staff, leaders, educators and thought leaders from across the country.

This year Biomedical Science Day 2024 took place on Thursday 6 June. This is a day to celebrate biomedical science professionals’ hard work.

North West London Pathology have won the Royal College of Pathologists Achievement Award! The award is in recognition of our digital transformation, replacing and updating our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) from multiple legacy systems spread across seven sites, reducing risk and enabling the full harmonisation of the network.

Our 2024 Symposium will bring together pathologists, laboratory scientists, healthcare leaders, and medical professionals from NWLP and beyond for a dynamic exchange of knowledge and ideas. This will be a day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and innovation!

Our NWLP Staff Awards took place in May 2024 at the W12 Conference Centre in Hammersmith.

In May at the UK Employee Experience Awards 2024, Saghar Missaghian-Cully, Managing Director, won Leader of the Year, and our induction programme won the silver award for the Best Employee Experience Journey!

NWLP have been successful in winning two awards at the recent Public Services People Managers Association (PPMA) Excellence in People Management Awards. NWLP won the Best Workforce Transformation/Change Initiative Award.
