National Pathology Week 2025
National Pathology Week (NPW) 2025 ran from 3–9 November, and as ever, we were keen to get involved and to share the important role pathologists play in our healthcare. This year’s theme was ‘Pathology Solutions’, which aimed to inspire discussions around innovation and new ideas in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
During the week, we shared various statistics from NWLP’s labs and the wider organisation that we’re proud of. These were:
- We deliver 65 million tests every year
- We serve a population exceeding 2 million
- We provide services to approximately 280 GP practices within the London Integrated Care system
- Our expert services span over 23 specialist areas within our diagnostic divisions
- We are recognised by NHS England as a ‘Thriving’ network (and were one of the first!)
We also took part in a takeover on Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust’s account on X, to show their followers what a day working as a biomedical scientist actually looks like. Arthi Anand, Clinical Scientist, Laboratory Director and Deputy Clinical Director at NWLP hosted the takeover, sharing her impact in improving outcomes for kidney and stem cell transplant recipients, putting a spotlight on some of her amazing colleagues, highlighting their success and achievements and encouraging followers to find out more about about transplants.
If you would like to find out more about transplants, you can watch this animation from our #DiagnosingYou series here.
