IgG antibody levels to Haemophilus influenzae are requested as part of an immune deficiency screen for patients with recurrent or opportunistic infections. This test is only available for patients 4 years of age. |
Clinical Indications |
Assessment of an antibody response to haemophilus vaccine Aiding the diagnosis of immunodeficiency (acquired, congenital or iatrogenic, ie. following administration of immunosuppressive agents) Haemophilus influenza type b post-vaccination immune status in sickle-cell, immunocompromised or other select patients in whom recurrent episodes of pneumococcal/haemophilus infection have been observed |
