HLA typing at medium/low resolution typing for HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, -DQA1, -DQB1, -DPA1 and –DPB1 is performed using PCR-SSP. This technique allows quick turn-around of HLA typing results primarily for deceased donor HLA typing It can also be used for rapid low/medium resolution HLA typing at the request of the clinical team. |
Clinical Indications |
This resolution of HLA typing is of particular importance in the provision of deceased donor HLA typing in support on UK national deceased donor transplant programme. Due to the nature of deceased donor typing it is important that HLA typing result is achieved within a short time frame. |
