BLOOD SCIENCES:
The go live of the interim chemistry lab at the Charing Cross hub took place on Monday 11th February and has been a great success. The implementation of the interim lab will enable us to move forward with the next phase of our plan – building our new state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary automated laboratory (MDAL).
CELLULAR PATHOLOGY:
Phase 1 of the cellular pathology refurbishment laboratory at the hub was successfully completed on Friday 8 February. This phase included relocation into the newly refurbished 3L10 laboratory. Phase 2 of the refurbishment has now begun with new equipment from Abbott being installed.
MICROBIOLOGY:
The new BD Phoenix was installed in February. This new automated antibiotic susceptibility testing system will provide rapid, accurate and reliable detection of known and emerging antimicrobial resistance. It enables workflows to be more efficient and will provide state-of-the-art data management to monitor, analyse and communicate actionable results directly to laboratories and clinicians.
