This is performed using Luminex xMAP Technology.

Clinical Indications

HLA antibody identification is used primarily for identification of HLA antibody, pre-renal transplantation for matching and avoidance of rejection of transplanted organs, and post transplantation to monitor for antibody mediated rejection

HLA antibody identification is also used before HSCT transplantation in cases when the potential donor is not fully matched.

Samples must be sent via first class post or courier.
It is important to record the sample date when requesting these tests.
Please provide HIV and hepatitis B status.
Results are held with the patient history, and are not routinely reported for individual samples.
