Test background |
This test is only performed if the antinuclear antibody (ANA) screen is positive. The ENA screen includes antibodies to RNP, Sm, SS-A, SS-B, Scl-70 and Jo-1. If the ENA screen is positive then individual specificities will be checked and subsequently confirmed by immunoblot assay. Jo-1 antibodies are detected in patients with myositis, especially in combination with pulmonary fibrosis. |
