PTH rP is a fetal peptide closely related to PTH which maintains the fetus hypercalcaemic to the mother. It is occasionally produced by tumours and can be a cause of hypercalcaemia of malignancy. |

Unexplained hypercalcaemia, particularly in patients with known carcinomas. |
