The LFT profile includes measurement of total protein and albumin concentration as a function of anabolic liver synthesis. This allows calculation of the globulin protein fraction from which an assessment of systemic immune involvement or haematological malignancy may be inferred.

Clinicial Indications

Assessment and monitoring of liver impairment
(Note: GGT and ALT assay may be sought also to gauge severity of organ dysfunction and induction of hepatic enzymes).
