Before patients undergo any form of treatment which may affect their fertility status or render them infertile, semen samples may be kept for long term storage in specifically designed storage containers, having satisfied obligatory requirements in compliance with the regulatory and licensing criteria stipulated by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Surgically removed sperm and sperm kept for potential use as 'back-up' can also kept under similar conditions.

Clinical Indications

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection or in vitro fertilization.
