Hillingdon Hospitals – new pathology IT system and service transfers
On Monday 19 April as part of a transformation programme to implement a hub and spoke model for pathology we will be implementing a new pathology IT system and transferring some services from Hillingdon hospital to our hub laboratory at Charing Cross Hospital. The change is being implemented over the weekend to minimise the impact on GP samples as we receive much smaller quantities of GP tests during the weekends.
A number of Biochemistry, Haematology (Special Coagulation and Haematology), Virology, Immunology and Microbiology Serology tests performed on site at (or referred from) the Hillingdon laboratory will be processed at the UKAS accredited (ISO15189:2012) Charing Cross Hospital laboratory hub. All assays used on the Charing Cross site have been fully internally validated by the laboratory.
